Reconstruction and modernization of a cellulose production facility and building infrastructure after fire damage.


task / PROBLEM

Due to a fire damage in the main energy distribution, all energy and control distributors, which also include the control system of the production plant, were destroyed. In the course of the new construction, the safety standards and the operation of the plant are to be adapted to the state of the art. Another goal was to minimize the resources needed to operate the production plant, while increasing the production volume.

Due to the high energy consumption, the production plant is powered by a synchronous generator driven by a diesel engine type VOLVO-PENTA. For safety and failure reasons, the control circuits and safety devices were used by the local grid operator. In the course of the redesign, the power distribution system was redesigned and implemented with circuit breakers, frequency converters and programmable logic controller (PLC). The distribution boards, as well as the entire cabling of the production plant and the building services were rebuilt or carried out. In order to keep the time for the production downtime as short as possible, the implementation from planning to release was carried out in a minimum period of 8 weeks.
